How this page works, and how to make it yours

For businesses where the build is the proof

Property is rarely bought from a general promise. Buyers want to see what has been made, understand the thinking behind it and know what happens when they ask for more detail. A generic page can make a development, contractor or architecture practice sound interchangeable. It leaves the work without the space it needs.

Property Development Portfolio is for businesses sold on how they build. Its structure follows the logic of a developer-builder site: a featured scheme, a clear approach, further work, a written build standard, a delivery process, sustainability figures, buyer questions and an enquiry route. The aim is not to replace a conversation. It gives a serious prospective buyer enough material to begin one.

The template is especially useful when the business has real projects to document. That may mean homes, communities, hospitality spaces, commercial work or crafted products at architectural scale. The page can show the work first, then explain the principles and practical detail that sit behind it.

A project-led route to an enquiry

The Hero opens with “Built for a higher life” and a supporting line about homes, communities and lasting value. It has a photograph, so this is where the business should place an image that establishes its type of work immediately. Replace the headline with a concise statement that can be supported by the project photography which follows.

Projects then introduces a named scheme, “The Ridge”, with its location and a “View project” link. This is the place for the strongest completed or current development. The project text needs to identify what it is, where it is and why it matters. The accompanying project material should be prepared well enough that a prospective buyer can understand the scheme without broad claims.

The Approach band gives the business a short statement of intent under “A better tomorrow”. Its existing copy connects considered design, sustainable development and long-term value. For another business, this section should say what guides decisions from the outset. Keep it specific to the work rather than repeating the hero statement.

More introduces another scheme, “The Valley”, with a second location and a larger set of photographs. Use it to widen the picture. It might show a different type of development, a different setting or a project that proves a distinct part of the business offer.

Build is headed “Five things in every scheme”. It is the written specification section. The template uses it to set out commitments that are written into contracts and that buyers can hold the developer to. This is where the business should name standards it can genuinely explain and stand behind. It is not the place for loose aspirations. Each point needs to be clear enough to mean something to a buyer.

Process follows with “Four stages, one team, no surprises”. It combines project imagery with the stages of delivery. This band should describe how the work moves from early discussion to completion. A property developer may cover site selection, design, build and handover. A contractor or fabricator can use its own real sequence. The important point is that the stages match how the business actually works.

Sustainability is headed “Measured, not claimed”. The supplied example explains that its figures are taken from completed buildings after handover and published whether or not they flatter the business. Use this band only for figures the business can support. If there are no comparable measured results, write about the relevant practice carefully rather than presenting an unsupported number.

Reviews adds a customer quote alongside a photograph. Choose a review that says something useful about the completed work or the working relationship. Questions provides an accordion for the issues buyers raise before they enquire. The example also gives direct sales contact details and says a director answers. Replace these details with the contact route and response arrangement the business can actually offer.

The Enquiry band is the page goal. “Come and stand in one” asks the visitor to name a scheme so that plans, a specification, current availability and a visit to a finished house can be arranged. Adapt that promise to the information and visit the business can provide. The final Closing band returns to photography, leaving the work in view after the form.

Adapting the design

The template is available in Ink, Steel, Moss and Clay colour schemes. Its default type pairing is Anton for display text and Archivo for body copy. Alternatives listed for the template are Anton with Archivo, IBM Plex Mono with Archivo, and Oswald with Archivo. The display style and uppercase headings suit short, direct statements, while the body type gives space for project descriptions and specifications.

The layout is light, photo-led, bold and minimal. It needs 20 photographs in total. They appear in the Hero, the first project, the approach statement, the second project, the process section, sustainability, the review and the closing band. Prepare a coherent set rather than unrelated images: exterior views, details, spaces, people or site work should each have a reason for appearing where they do.

Writing it for the business

Starting from this template costs no credits. About 20 credits rewrites the copy with AI. A useful brief names the business, the projects to feature, the places they are in, the type of buyer or client being sought and the enquiry outcome. It should also state the real build commitments, delivery stages, sustainability evidence and questions that need answering.

Give the rewrite precise source material. For example, name the scheme that should lead, explain whether availability can be shared, and say whether site visits can be arranged. The AI can shape the material into the page structure, but it cannot verify a claim the business has not supplied.

What to prepare before publishing

Start with the lead project. Write its name, location and a short explanation of what makes it representative of the business. Then select the second project and gather the photograph set for both. The approach paragraph should be written in the business’s own terms, not copied from a competitor or a general sustainability statement.

Prepare the specification points and process stages with the people who can confirm them. Gather any sustainability figures with their basis, and choose one customer quote that can be used with permission. Finally, write the buyer questions and answers, confirm the contact details, and decide exactly what information will be sent after an enquiry.

Variations for neighbouring trades

A construction business can lead with a completed build and use Build for its contractual standards, then describe its own delivery stages in Process. An architecture practice can make the projects and approach sections do more of the work, using the enquiry form for requests for plans, specifications or a discussion.

A workspace operator can feature two locations and use the questions section to answer practical enquiries before a visit. A hotel group can use the same project sequence for properties, provided the enquiry promise reflects the information it can send and the visit it can arrange.

When another template fits better

Architectural Residences Enquiries is a closer fit when the page is centred on enquiries for architectural homes. Waterfront Development Enquiries is for a development whose waterfront setting needs to lead the enquiry page.

Residence Launch suits a launch-focused residence page. Off Plan Residences is the better starting point for off-plan homes. Construction is worth considering for a construction-led business. See the wider real estate collection for related starting points.

Before you publish

  • Check that each featured scheme has approved photography.
  • Confirm that every build commitment can be supported.
  • Make sure measured figures state their real basis.
  • Test the enquiry route and the promised follow-up.
04 questions

Before you start

Who is this template for?
It is for property developers and other build-led businesses that need to show projects, explain their approach and collect enquiries. It can also suit architecture, construction, workspace, hospitality, furniture and fabrication businesses with substantial work to document.
Does this page take payments or show prices?
The template is built around an enquiry form, not a payment step. Its example offers plans, a specification, current availability and a visit after a visitor names a scheme.
What if the business does not have sustainability figures?
The Sustainability band is specifically framed around measured results from completed buildings after handover. Do not add figures that cannot be supported; use only evidence the business can explain accurately.
Is this too detailed for buyers who just want to enquire?
The page gives buyers a route to enquire, but it also answers the questions that often come before that step. The projects, specification, process and accordion help the business make the enquiry more informed.
