How this page works, and how to make it yours

For tours that leave on a date

When a trip has a fixed departure, the visitor’s questions are simple: when, how long, how much, and is there still room? Tour Departures answers them the way an airport would, with a departure board. It is a promotional, photo-led template that publishes prices and places left, explains what the price covers and converts on a free hold rather than a payment.

It suits package-tour operators and agencies, small-group walking and cycling holidays, seasonal departures, and tickets and activities. Choose it when the page is essentially a list of dated departures and the goal is holding a place on one.

How the page gets a place held

The hero announces the season and the lowest price, “Autumn departures, from £849”, with the number of departures, group size and what is included. A terms band follows with the four numbers that matter: maximum group size, deposit, free hold period and refund if a trip is cancelled.

Departures is the board: the next eight trips with date, name, length, price and places left. Featured trips tells the story of three departures with photographs and savings. What’s included takes one trip and itemises what the price covers, so “from £849” becomes believable.

How booking works explains the free hold and the decision window. Reviews adds a rating and the share of solo travellers, guaranteed to run removes the fear of cancellation, questions covers fitness levels and rooms, and the page ends with the hold form and a phone number.

Adjusting the look

Four schemes come with it: Lagoon, Sunset, Jungle night and Leaf. Font pairings are Lexend with Hanken Grotesk, Familjen Grotesk with Barlow, Archivo with Nunito Sans and Epilogue with IBM Plex Sans. Thirteen photographs run through the demo; use shots from your own groups and routes.

The departure board, trip cards and inclusions list are all editable in place. When dates change each season, select the board and ask the AI to update it from your schedule.

Using your own trips

Start from the template at no cost in credits, or tick “Write the text for my business” and the AI rewrites the page for your company for about 20 credits, keeping the design. Give it your season, the departures with dates, prices and places, what a typical trip includes, your hold, deposit and cancellation terms, group size and your review score.

Keeping the departure board honest

A departure board only works if it is up to date. Decide who changes the places-left figure and how often, and remove departures once they fill or close. Each row needs the date, the number of days, the price per person sharing, the single supplement and the departure airports. If prices vary by date, show the actual price on each row rather than a “from” figure in the table.

The inclusions section should use one trip as a worked example and list what is not included, such as some meals, tips or travel insurance. Write the hold policy exactly as your booking team applies it: how long a place is held, whether a card is needed, when the deposit is due and when the balance is taken. The guaranteed-departure promise needs a clear threshold, so state the minimum group size and what happens if a trip does not reach it.

Seasonal offers, activities and ticketed tours

An agency running a seasonal campaign can use the hero offer and trips section for a few featured departures with savings, keeping the full board below. Activity and ticket sellers can replace days with start times and the group size with capacity per session. For city or day tours, the inclusions section becomes a route with stops, and the hold form can ask for the date and the number of tickets.

When another template fits better

Tour Departures is for fixed dates. If you write custom itineraries for each client, Tailor-made Travel shows a sample route and a planner instead. Expeditions and treks with a countdown to the booking deadline fit Adventure Trip, and hotel or holiday offers with a limited sale window suit Hotel Flash Deals. Retreats with a single programme and date belong on Wellness Retreat.

Before you publish

  • Update the departure board and places left before every campaign.
  • Check the inclusions against the booking conditions.
  • Confirm the hold, deposit and refund terms are exactly as stated.
  • Ask for departure and party size in the form so the hold can be placed straight away.
04 questions

Before you start

What kind of travel business is this for?
Package-tour operators and agencies selling fixed departures at a published price: walking and cycling holidays, group tours, seasonal trips, tickets and activities.
How is the departure board edited?
It is a table of date, trip, length, price and places left. Edit rows in the page editor; keep the places-left column accurate or remove it.
Can the goal be a booking rather than a hold?
Yes. Change the final form's heading and button, and adjust the how-booking-works steps to your process.
Which colour schemes are included?
Lagoon, Sunset, Jungle night and Leaf, with Lexend, Familjen Grotesk, Archivo or Epilogue headings.
