How this page works, and how to make it yours

For a sale too big to put on one list

When a sale covers thousands of products from hundreds of sellers, the job of the page is not persuasion but navigation. Black Friday Marketplace opens with a search bar and popular terms, then routes people by category, by brand, by price and by the deal everyone is talking about. The look is bright and calm, which is what a busy page needs.

It suits marketplaces, department stores and multi-brand retailers. Pick it when visitors arrive knowing roughly what they want and need to find it fast.

How the page sells, section by section

The hero carries the promise, a drawn search bar with popular searches and the headline discount. A countdown runs to the end of the doorbusters.

Shop by category covers the departments, and hot deals show four products with ratings, previous and current prices. Top brands lists labels with their maximum discount, and a trust strip answers shipping, price match, returns and payment.

Gifts by price splits the range into bands in tabs. Deal of the day gives one product a full section with specifications and how many are claimed. How it works explains searching, comparing sellers and one delivery date. Reviews, price-drop alerts and questions close the page.

Making it yours

Retail red, Cobalt, Emerald and Ink schemes are included, with Newsreader, Playfair Display or Lora. Twenty-four photographs are used, mostly product cards, so consistent cut-outs on white keep a busy grid readable.

What a marketplace has to get right

Every price on the page should come from live data, including the claimed counts and stock lines, because a marketplace page is refreshed by shoppers many times a day. Reference prices are regulated in most markets, so record what each product sold for before the sale.

If you promise a price match, publish the conditions: which retailers count, how long the window is and how to claim. State delivery expectations when several sellers are in one basket, since that is the most common complaint, and say how returns work when the seller is not you. Support hours need to be real, and staffed.

Writing it with the AI

Start from the template for free, or tick “Write the text for my business” for about 20 credits. A good brief names the marketplace, the sale dates and end time, four hot deals with prices, the categories and price bands, the deal of the day, the price match rules and your support hours.

Adapting it for other sales

A grocery or pharmacy marketplace can replace brands with departments and add substitution rules. A travel or ticket marketplace can turn deals into dated offers. A B2B marketplace can show trade prices behind a login and keep the search hero. Outside Black Friday, the same layout runs a mid-season sale with the phases removed.

After the week

Keep the address and change the contents: the search hero and categories stay useful all year, so switch the countdown for a seasonal banner rather than deleting the page. The alert list you build in November is the cheapest traffic you will have in December.

Where a marketplace gets its November traffic

A marketplace is fed by search, comparison and deal sites, app notifications and its own alert list. Each lands people in a different place, so make sure the search bar, the categories and the deal of the day all work as entry points. Because orders arrive with their source, you can compare the cost of a sale from a deal site against your own list, which usually decides next year's budget. Keep the page address stable so it carries its ranking into the next season.

When another template fits better

For a single brand's loud sale with phases, Black Friday Mega Sale is a better fit. Timed doorbusters fit Black Friday Drop Board, a premium member preview fits Black Friday Premium Brands, and an 11.11 mega-sale fits 11.11 Flash Sale. More selling layouts are on the ecommerce templates page.

Before you publish

  • Draw prices, stock and claimed counts from live data.
  • Publish the price match conditions.
  • Explain delivery and returns across several sellers.
  • Staff the support hours you advertise.
  • Test search and the alert form on a phone.
04 questions

Before you start

Which shops is this template for?
Marketplaces, department stores and multi-brand retailers running a big sale across many categories, where people search and compare before buying.
How is it different from the darker Black Friday templates?
This one is light, search-led and built for browsing many sellers. Black Friday Mega Sale is louder and phase-led; Drop Board is for timed doorbusters.
What does the deal of the day do?
It gives one product the space to be sold properly, with specifications, the saving and how many have been claimed, which lifts the whole page.
Which colour schemes and fonts come with it?
Retail red, Cobalt, Emerald and Ink, with Newsreader, Playfair Display or Lora.
